A National Food Authority (NFA) warehouse officer assigned in Badian town, Cebu province was ordered to pay more than P10 million worth of unaccounted imported rice stocks.
A copy of the demand letter issued by the NFA central office ordered Badian NFA officer Benedicto Bernal to pay P10,628,095.09 within 15 working days or else face administrative and criminal charges.
The report came amid assurances from the NFA Central Visayas office that the region’s rice stocks is sufficient for five months.
